Ag Technology Sales Specialist - GROWMARK FS Mid-West - Kennedy, NY


GROWMARK FS is headquartered in Milford, Delaware with branches in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. GROWMARK FS has about 450 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 13,000 customers. The cooperative does business in seed, agronomy, crop protection, precision agriculture, and custom application. GROWMARK FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.



PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT



Conducts direct sales and provides sales support to region salespeople for Precision Agriculture systems and equipment sold and serviced by GFS. Performs systems/equipment installations, and provides technical support for assigned product lines.




SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP



Responsible for training regional sales force on Precision Ag related products,systems, and practices. Provides on the farm support to regional sales force.




ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.



Travels throughout assigned territory performing sales calls with current and prospective growers.



Communicates sound agronomic practices to customers.



Quotes prices and credit terms. Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained, installation of systems and equipment.



Conducts technology support service plans for customer equipment.



Performs pre-planting equipment set-up, and maintenance checks of customer equipment.



Provides in-season technology support.



Facilitates precision farming practices including, but not limited to, grid/zone soil sampling, variable rate spreading, yield analysis, and ariel imagery within the assigned territory.



Prepares reports of business transactions and expense accounts.



Maintains territory analysis files on current and prospective customers.



Participates in grower meetings on product and technical information.



Maintains competitive records for sales territory.



Provides customer service via post planting follow-up, field checks and handling customer complaints.



Conducts post planting system data analysis and up-sells to the next needed systems as appropriate.



Displays FS field signs to promote GFS products.


Manages inventory of product line parts and assists locations in inventory control practices.



Promotes the use of GFS Credit programs as a selling tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit.



Works with credit department in collection of accounts receivable.




OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS



Represents GFS at meetings and farm shows.



Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.



Performs all other duties as assigned.




REQUIREMENTS



Normally requires a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field, or 5 years experience in Ag Technology equipment or equivalent to demonstrate agricultural technology knowledge.



Demonstrated knowledge of Ag Technology Products and their capabilities on farm, machinery and/or mechanics, and agronomy.



Ability to read and interpret technical instructions pertaining to Precision Ag products and services and have the ability to foresee changing market trends and to strategically plan for the short and long-term success of GROWMARK FS.



Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.



Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.



Proven ability to work independently, in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.



Ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.



Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.



Ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.



Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.



Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
